Approaching St.
Lawrence Church on any given Sunday morning, it soon becomes obvious
that the parish is pulsing with life. We are all here for one purpose--to
celebrate liturgy. It is central to our Catholic identity and defines
us as a people.
Entering the doors of our church,
we realize a true multi-cultural mix of people, all ages, shapes and
sizes gather together to worship as the Body of Christ. There are no
spectators here. Everyone sings, and responds in word and gesture as
a community.
A gathering song unites us and
the assembly stands as the Word of God is processed. Incense rises,
the cross is held high, the lector takes his or her place, and we await
the proclamation of the Good News.
Our diversity of lectors reflects
the diversity of our parish. Young and old, men and women alike proclaim
the Word of God.
We baptize, confirm, break bread,
celebrate new life, marriage and death, as a community during Sunday
worship throughout the year--together--ALWAYS TOGETHER. And it is in
that spirit of communion each week that we come to the table with broken
bread and shared cup.
Nourished as a community by the
love of Christ, we now go forth, as a village of faith, to love and
serve the Lord.
Thanks Be to God!
